LTL Shipping Procedures
How to Correctly Manage your Delivery
Removing your order from the Truck
You can either use the liftgate provided by the LTL Freight Carrier, use your own forklift, or have the truck back up to your dock.
Must Note Damaged or Missing Items
It is imperative that you check the entire order to ensure that it has arrived in satisfactory condition. Any damages or missing items must be noted on the Bill of Lading prior to the driver leaving your location. Please keep your own copy.
How to Note Damaged or Missing Items
Upon receipt of your shipment, please inspect it thoroughly for any signs of damage or missing items. If you identify any issues, please record them on the delivery receipt. By documenting damages, you enhance your chances of receiving compensation in the event of any discrepancies with your order. Failure to note any exceptions when signing the receipt may result in the shipment being deemed received in acceptable condition.
If any piece of the shipment is damaged or missing:
- Note damage or missing item on the BOL before signing
- Keep your copy of the delivery receipt
- Contact us within 24 hours
- Keep the damaged packing materials for inspection
- Take pictures of the damaged items and packaging
