Shipping & Returns
Have confidence in ordering with Trashcans Unlimited, if you are dissatisfied with ANY of our products, you may return the item for a refund within 30 days of receiving merchandise less shipping costs, excluding custom products or any product clearly marked Non Returnable in the products description. In the event that you need to return a product, please Email Us for return instructions. Returns on items will be accepted within 30 days of receipt and a refund will be credited back to your credit card minus any shipping, handling or freight charges. Return freight charges are the responsibility of the purchaser. We do not give refunds for return shipping costs. Returns must be received back resalable in original cartons and packaging. Returns over 30 days will not be accepted.
Due to the fact that the majority of our products are shipped direct from the manufacturer most of our items carry a 20% restocking fee which will be deducted from your refund should you wish to make a return. These would be large item returns that need to be sent back to the manufacturer in which a 20% - 30% restocking fee is imposed on Trashcans Unlimited, LLC for all returns sent back to the manufacturer. Returns sent back directly to our warehouse carry a 15% restocking fee.
Why do we charge a restocking fee? In order to keep our prices as low as possible for our customers. When an item is returned there are additional costs involved in processing the return. Instead of raising prices to compensate we only charge an extra fee to the customer making the return. This allows us to continue to provide everyday low prices to all.
You should expect to receive your refund within 3-4 weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund much more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your return instructions. If you did not create an account and checked out as a guest please Email Us for your return instructions.
We can ship to virtually any address in the continental USA. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to all destinations. We currently do not ship to Canada, International, or APO, FPO addresses.
We normally ship all in stock items within 5 business days from the time your order is received. Orders are usually shipped via UPS and actual delivery time will vary according to your UPS Zone. (in most cases it averages 5-10 business days from the day that the order was placed) Any item that is "out of stock" will be backordered and will be shipped immediately upon it's arrival. Generally lead times will be posted on the products page/description. If none is listed TF Concrete 3-5 weeks to ship, MF Metal Armor/Plastisol 3-5 weeks to ship, Fiberglas 4-6 weeks to ship.
Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
The majority of our products are shipped direct from the manufacturer. Occasionally, circumstances beyond our control will require additional shipping time. Certain products could take up to 4 weeks to ship due to availabilty or if they are custom made items. Holiday seasons, large orders, special orders and out of stock items may take longer. Some items may be temporarily out of stock for as long as 4 to 6 weeks weeks due to color, style, size or other unforeseen circumstance. We will contact you if items are backordered and customers will be notified if item ordered has been discontinued or is no longer available.
Trashcans Unlimited is not responsible for service transit time. Transit times are provided by the carrier, exclude weekends and holidays, and may vary with package origin and destination, particularly during peak periods. Please note that your item may be left on your porch by the delivery service unless you specify otherwise in your order.
We ship Monday - Friday and offer a number of shipping options. We are closed and do not ship on all US Legal Holidays. Most orders are shipped by insured carrier such as UPS Ground unless specified otherwise. Delivery days will vary depending on where you are located. Shipments to the Pacific West Coast generally arrive in 7-14 business days, Western States (Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico) 7-14 days, Central States 3-7 days, Eastern States 3-7 business days. Ground shipping is not available to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
Some products are too heavy/large to ship via the small package delivery services (e.g. UPS, FedEx) so it will be sent to you via truck freight. Truck freight is different than standard UPS, FedEx or US Mail in that you will be responsible for carrying the product from the back of the truck into your house (or wherever it's going).
The most important thing to remember about truck freight is that you MUST inspect the package at the time of delivery. If the box has any damage, or if there is any reason for you to be at all concerned about damage, please write "PRODUCT DAMAGED" clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This simply insures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem.
If you are ordering a very large item, please keep in mind that you may need a couple of people to help unload it. Alternatively, most truck freight companies offer additional services to help you move items from the truck into your house. Once we email you the tracking information you can contact the shipper directly to inquire about additional services. You would be responsible for directly paying the truck freight carrier for any additional services.
Damaged or defective merchandise must be reported within 7 days from the day of delivery. Damaged shipments from handling must be claimed with the freight carrier. If any cartons are missing or damaged, be sure to note this on the freight bill. If you notice concealed damage after the driver has left, keep all the packing and call the freight carrier to return and inspect the damage and file a claim. We cannot be responsible for damage caused by the freight carrier. Items which are reported defective within 7 days of receipt will be replaced or refunded if possible. Claims reported after 7 days of receipt for any defects may contact manufacturer for warranty instructions.
Canada ShipmentsPlease be aware that Canadian Custom office may charge an import custom duty fee or brokerage fee for our products. Canada shipments are non returnable. (We Currently Do Not Offer Shipping to Canada)
International ShipmentsPlease be aware that some countries may charge an import custom duty fee for our products. International shipments are non returnable. (We Currently Do Not Offer International Shipping)
